Mr. Jim Thayer began teaching Math at Arizona Christian University as an adjunct professor in August, 2015 after moving to Arizona from Georgia. He came on board as a full time faculty member in in August of 2016. Mr. Thayer’s background includes 12 years of teaching Math at the High School level in both regular education and special education, 4 years of Math at Shorter University in Georgia, and 5 years in the online program at the University of Phoenix.
Jim has a Bachelor of Science degree from Georgia Tech, and a Master’s degree in Math Education from Piedmont University. He also has an ESL (English as a Second Language) certification. Mr. Thayer has successfully worked with students with learning disabilities, as well as gifted students.
Mr. Thayer values each individual as a created being of God. As a husband and father, he practices his faith working as an evangelist and minister. He has travelled throughout America and the world preaching and teaching in countries such as Colombia, Ecuador, South Africa, and Russia. He has recently preached for congregations in Prescott Valley, AZ; Atlanta, GA; and Athens, AL, and fills in for other congregations in the Phoenix area.
