Arizona Shine, a ministry of Arizona Christian University, has been named the 2015 Radio Station of the Year by National Religious Broadcasters (NRB). The award was presented February 24 to Arizona Shine Station Manager Sally Barton during the NRB 2015 International Christian Media Convention, February 23-26 in Nashville, TN.
In recognizing Arizona Shine’s excellence in production and service to the community, the NRB award also acknowledges commitment to the Gospel, faithfulness to the mission and personal integrity.
“We are so thankful for the leadership and ministry of Arizona Shine and ACU Vice President and KGCB Station Manager Sally Barton in our state,” said Len Munsil, President of Arizona Christian University. “This national recognition of the Arizona Shine team by the NRB is well-deserved and much appreciated.”
“This award represents the pinnacle of Christian media,” said Barton. “’Proverbs 22:1, A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.’ To be recognized by the National Religious Broadcasters as effective in encouraging believers in their faith and introducing people to Jesus through this mighty microphone is God’s gift to His Arizona Shine and Arizona Christian University family. To our listening and supportive family, this recognition is because of you. For including Arizona Shine in your days and nights, for your love and prayers, thank you.”
With a signal that covers families from Flagstaff to the Phoenix metropolitan area, Arizona Shine is dedicated to empowering listeners to share the love of Jesus. Moving beyond the microphone into the community, Arizona Shine has made outreach efforts that enlighten and engage listeners a priority, including hands-on involvement with Community Pregnancy Centers across Arizona, HopeFest Phoenix, Yavapai Food Bank, Phoenix Gospel Rescue Mission, Greater Prescott Area Prayer Breakfast and the Celebrate Recovery Christian Festival.
