Leading theologian Dr. Grudem and economist Dr. Asmus to speak at ACU chapel about their new book on solutions to poverty.
We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Barry Asmus and Dr. Wayne Grudem, coauthors of The Poverty of Nations: A Sustainable Solution, to the Arizona Christian University campus. Dr. Asmus and Dr. Grudem will speak at ACU’s chapel service at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 27, 2014.
Senior Economist with the National Center for Policy Analysis, Dr. Barry Asmus is an advocate of free market economics. He was named by USA Today as one of the five most requested speakers in the United States. He has been twice voted the Outstanding Professor of the Year and was also awarded the Freedom Foundation at Valley Forge Award for Private Enterprise Education. Dr. Asmus has recently traveled to various countries to speak with government leaders about free-market, low tax, protected property rights and free trade policies. Among the nine books he has published, his book Crossroads: The Great American Experiment was nominated for an H.L. Mencken Award.
Dr. Wayne Grudem, Research Professor of Theology and Biblical Studies at Phoenix Seminary, has published twenty books, including the profoundly influential Systematic Theology. Before coming to Phoenix Seminary, Dr. Grudem taught at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School for 20 years. He is the Former President of the Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood as well as the Former President of the Evangelical Theological Society. Dr. Grudem was a member of the Translation Oversight Committee for the English Standard Version of the Bible and served as the General Editor for the ESV Study Bible.
