18 “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.
19 See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.

Isaiah 43:18-19

2012-2013 at ACU is already setting itself apart as a new great thing! We have had such a great week here. It seemed that during leadership week and prep week that people were dragging a bit. Students and staff were sharing about the challenges they had faced last year and the struggles they had this summer. It was crazy! Everyone was in agreement that they were not entirely ready to start a new year. They needed new!

We have spent the last two weeks talking about the goodness of God, the struggles of our past, and the excitement of preparing for a new year. Isn’t it so amazing that we get the opportunity to start over. That is one of the reasons that we chose #transform to be our welcome week theme. We are asking God to transform us, our community, and more!

I think that one of the coolest things about the God that we serve is his ability to forget the past and make things new. When we ask, he is able to forget the past and forgive our sin. It is GONE! Out of his mind. He doesn’t bring it up again or remind us that we mess up all the time. It is gone and we are new! We are well on our way to an amazing year. #Transform!
