This will be my fourth year as a student at Arizona Christian University. It has been a journey ever since I stepped on to this campus. I have had countless conversations, numerous experiences, and learned so many life lessons not just in the classroom but around the entire school. This place has changed me for the good and has developed me in to the man I am today. This year in particular has been different. A big part of the difference is because I am on student leadership this year as a first floor men’s discipleship leader. In a nut shell, I am here to encourage and let the Arizona Christian University men know that they are not alone and that they have support. Life is tough, and talking to men around the school it only gives validity to that point. However, being a man of God is possible, and it is rewarding to live life with the guys on my floor and to be there in their low times of hurt and rejoice with them in their times of gladness.
It has been a time of learning how to put others ahead of yourself, care for others, and build community in the process. That word community is repeated so many times around the campus and will probably be mentioned many more, but that is what this campus is striving for and even fighting for. Over the course of my time at Arizona Christian, I have learned that in community, every person has an impact on others regardless of their actions. The question is, how will you have an impact on others?
Philippians 2:3-5
“Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus.”
