Arizona Christian University

Dear Friends:

As I sit in my office at Arizona Christian University, I can hear the sound of bulldozers and construction – on one side of campus, old apartments are being remodeled into new classrooms. On another side of campus, old portables are being demolished as a new baseball field is being prepared for our mid-February opener against Biola University.

The students are home with family, but transformation of this campus at 26th St. and Cactus continues.

This has been a remarkable year. As I reflect on all that has occurred in 2011, I marvel at what God has done and is doing. Here are the highlights:

• A name change to Arizona Christian University, highlighting our location, our Christian commitment, and our growing diversity of courses and degrees.
• Amazing visibility through the presence of President George W. Bush speaking at our 50th anniversary celebration.
• Record enrollment and our largest freshman class.
• Acquisition of new property and buildings, and substantial upgrades to our campus.
• Dynamic new faculty, and a recommendation from a visiting accreditation team that we be able to offer new programs in biology, communication and political science.
• Our most successful accrediting team visit ever in December, with positive recommendations for continued growth and improvement.

Throughout this year, God has confirmed His plans for this institution to be a significant force in our region, nation and world for training Christian leaders to engage and transform culture through their biblical faith.

Today we are at a critical crossroads. We are reaching to expand quickly to meet the needs of our rapidly growing student population – for the facilities, the degree programs, the faculty, the mentoring and the scholarships they need!
