PRESCOTT, Ariz. (Sept. 5, 2013) – Arizona Christian University’s KGCB RadioShine 90.9 FM was awarded the 2013 Station of the Year, small market category, by Christian Music Broadcasters (CMB) last night during its Momentum Conference in Orlando, Florida.  Broadcasting from Prescott since 1994, this is the first national award for the station, which was gifted to Arizona Christian University last year by its nonprofit board.

KGCB RadioShine was recognized for demonstrating overall growth and serving out the station’s mission of communicating Biblical truths in a culturally relevant manner.

Christian radio stations from across the nation were evaluated in five areas, including audience reach and community involvement. The station’s commitment to serving Arizona communities goes beyond the microphone and supports many nonprofit organizations within its listening area, including efforts to rebuild a church in the Navajo Indian community in Northern Arizona.

"We are a privileged to be used as a tool in God's hand and an instrument for His Voice," said Sally Barton, Station Manager and Vice President for Media at ACU. "I am thrilled for the recognition Christian Music Broadcasters has provided by naming Radio Shine Station of the Year. God is at work through His people, the Radio Shine family, staff, listeners and supporters,” she said.

CMB is a national organization that exists to encourage, engage and equip professionals serving in Christian music broadcasting for Christ-centered excellence and influence, second to none.
