ACU Named NAIA Champion of Character Five-Star Institution

Arizona Christian University President Len Munsil is pleased to announce that the University has again been named a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Champions of Character Five-Star Institution. “We are encouraged that the NAIA has noted what we’ve gone to great lengths to establish at ACU — an athletics program that is not only competitive, but one that excels in building character and glorifying God,” Munsil said. “This is a credit to our athletic administration, our coaches, our faculty, our fans and of course, our student-athletes.” According to the NAIA, the Champions of Character program “will create an environment in which every NAIA student-athlete, coach, official and spectator is committed to the true spirit of competition through the five tenets: integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship and servant leadership.” To earn the Five-Star Institution honor, members are “measured on a demonstrated commitment to Champions of Character and earned points in character training, conduct in competition, academic focus, character recognition and character promotion. Institutions earned points based on exceptional student-athlete grade point averages and by obtaining zero ejections during competition throughout the course of the academic year.” Arizona Christian University is a member of the Golden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) and National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and competes in the National Christian College Athletics Association Division I (NCCAA).
