Dr. James Dobson to receive ACU’s 5th Daniel Award

Arizona Christian University President Len Munsil announced today that legendary pro-family leader Dr. James Dobson will receive the 5th Daniel Award for Courageous Public Faith at a banquet in his honor April 14 at the Phoenician in Scottsdale. “We are absolutely thrilled to be able to honor Dr. Dobson for the incredible work he has done to strengthen the family, while courageously defending biblical truth in our culture,” said ACU President Len Munsil. “It is almost impossible to measure the influence of this one man on the policies and practices related to parenting and the American family over the past half-century.” Dr. James Dobson is the Founder and President of Family Talk, a nonprofit organization that produces his radio program, “Dr. James Dobson’s Family Talk.” He is the author of more than 30 books dedicated to the preservation of the family, including The New Dare to Discipline; Love for a Lifetime; Life on the Edge; Love Must Be Tough; The New Strong-Willed Child; When God Doesn’t Make Sense; Bringing Up Boys; Marriage Under Fire; Bringing Up Girls; Head Over Heels and, most recently, Your Legacy: The Greatest Gift.  He was the founding president of Focus on the Family and has been an advisor to three U.S. Presidents on family issues. “Dr. Dobson’s practical wisdom for parents, through his books and radio programs, strengthened tens of millions of American families,” said Munsil. “His public proclamation of the Gospel, his work to advance the sanctity of life, strengthen marriage, fight pornography, build state family policy councils — and with his wife Shirley, to promote the National Day of Prayer – these accomplishments barely scratch the surface of Dr. Dobson’s influence. “When we...

ACU reputation grows with new ‘best value’ ranking

ACU reputation grows with new ‘best value’ ranking

Arizona Christian University was recently named Arizona’s second ‘best value’ university, ahead of two major public universities and higher than any other private college or university in the Grand Canyon state. The rankings were based on graduation rate, net price, acceptance rate and 20-year net return on investment. This recognition follows closely after ACU was listed among the top 50 Christian colleges and universities in the nation, and was noted by Business Insider for being the most selective college of any kind in the state of Arizona, putting ACU on a list with numerous Ivy League schools. “We are blessed that the hard work, dedication, sacrifice and prayers of our faculty, staff, administration and Board of Trustees to make Arizona Christian University an elite academic institution are now being recognized and validated by independent sources at the national level,” said President Len Munsil, who just completed his 5th year as ACU’s leader. “Even as we grow, you will not get lost in a crowd at ACU. Our entire community’s commitment to the academic and spiritual success and achievement of each and every student is rare in higher education, and truly sets us apart.” ACU’s cohesive and biblical general education curriculum – called “The CORE – Christian Liberal Arts for Cultural Transformation,” is the centerpiece of ACU’s commitment to preparing Christian leaders to “transform culture with truth” – to engage the world in every area of influence, from full-time ministry to business, from government to media, from health care to education, from music to family counseling. With record enrollment this fall, these national and state rankings are additional evidence of...

ACU Reaches New All-Time High for Enrollment…Again!

Defying national trends of declining enrollment, particularly at small colleges, Arizona Christian University reached record enrollment again this fall with a 6 percent increase over fall 2014. “While we are blessed by this continued growth, we are even more excited about the quality of our educational product and the consistent and authentic Christian community we are able to provide at ACU,” said President Len Munsil. “Our students will not get lost in a crowd of tens of thousands of students, and our small class sizes enable us to focus on bringing out each student’s best – educationally and spiritually.” Arizona Christian University is the only Christian college in Arizona listed among the top 50 in the nation, and was also noted by Business Insider for being the most selective college of any kind in the state of Arizona, putting ACU on a list with numerous Ivy League schools. Remaining faithful to its Bible college heritage, ACU is the only accredited Christian university in Arizona that provides all students with 18 hours of Bible instruction, two chapels each week and spiritual formation accountability, all while embracing a Christian faith commitment for all staff, faculty, students and Trustees. “We are excited to see ACU begin to be recognized nationally for the excellence of our academic programs and the quality of our community,” President Munsil said. “Even as we grow, we expect our national reputation to increase as we remain committed to our mission of preparing Christian leaders to engage culture.” ACU’s national and international visibility is reflected in a community that features students from 31 states and 14 foreign countries. Nationally,...
