Join Arizona Christian University for Firestorm Fridays! Firestorm Fridays offer you a stress-free, low-key environment to learn more about Arizona Christian University on your terms. All Firestorm Friday events begin at 3 p.m. in ACU’s Welcome Center and include a presentation by the admissions team, information on financial aid opportunities, a tour of campus, and the opportunity to ask any questions you might have about the college decision-making process. Plus, we’ll have light refreshments and all attendees will receive a free gift! “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” Auditions Now Open Arizona Christian University will be presenting “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” this April. Video auditions are now open to both current and former ACU/Southwestern students. Auditions are due by January 20, 2015. Sing approximately 30 seconds of any song of your choosing, preferably one that shows your high or low vocal range. No monologue necessary. Additionally, please submit a résumé of your performing experience. No experience is necessary, however.   How does one audition? Auditions are online only. Arizona Christian University is excited to announce the addition of an ACU Cheer Team, beginning this fall! Some of the benefits of being an ACU Cheer Team member are:   A solid support network that fosters personal growth and a Christian environment The opportunity to compete at a collegiate level The opportunity to travel for some tournaments and championship games A $1,000 scholarship for each member   Tryout Information Saturday, April 25th, 2015 Fultz Memorial Gymnasium, ACU Campus Check-In/Open Warm-Up: 9 – 9:30 a.m. Evaluations: 9:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. Applications will be accepted through registration/check-in the morning of tryouts. Video tryouts are acceptable, but not preferred. They must be submitted by April 20th to ashley.gronewold@arizonachristian.edu. ACU’s own Arizona Shine wins 2015 NRB Radio Station of the Year

The National Religious Broadcasters announced Thursday the winners of the 2015 NRB Media Awards. Arizona Christian University’s radio station, Arizona Shine, received the Radio Station of the Year award. This award recognizes that Arizona Shine is an innovative, locally focused radio station that has made a significant difference for Christ over the last year. These awards recognize this year’s most outstanding ministries, facilities, and programs/producers in the world’s preeminent association of Christian broadcasters and communicators. These awards are designed to encourage excellence in production service to the community, faithfulness to the mission, commitment to the Gospel, and personal integrity. “This award represents the pinnacle of Christian media,” said Arizona Shine Station Manager Sally Barton. “Proverbs 22:1, ‘A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.’ To be recognized by The National Religious Broadcasters as effective in encouraging believers in their faith and introducing people to Jesus through this mighty microphone is God’s gift to His Arizona Shine and Arizona Christian University family. To our listening supportive family, this recognition is because of you. For including Arizona Shine in your days and nights for your love, and prayers, thank you!” All award recipients will be presented their awards during the NRB 2015 International Christian Media Convention, which will take place February 23-26, 2015 in Nashville, TN.
